The current version of THE METAL PIT was established October 31, 2020. But THE METAL PIT has been in existence for over 20 years in different forms. We have had many volunteer writers donate their time to promoting Metal music, some have went on to do better things and some have passed on to a better place. RIP to my good friends Jodii Sandberg and Nick Rohm who both put in so much work on THE METAL PIT.

I am in my 50’s and have been officially listening to metal since 1982 when I first heard Iron Maiden’s THE NUMBER OF THE BEAST album. I live in small town Ontario, Canada. I went to many many concerts back in the 80’s and 90’s especially seeing bands like Maiden, Metallica, Dio, Priest, Dream Theater, Testament, Exodus, Arch Enemy, Deep Purple, Pantera, Slayer and many many more. I created this website just to promote the music I love and that saved my life.
