1. How did you first get into metal music, and what was the first band or album that hooked you?

The credit goes completely to my mom! I remember listening to Guns N’ Roses, Damn Yankees, and Ozzy Osbourne from as young as 2. Guns N’ Roses was always her favorite band and we would watch concerts on VHS every weekend. Use Your Illusion II was the first album I really remember being into. Don’t Cry was my favorite song back then, and hearing the alternate lyrics just blew my mind. A song that’s beautiful in two different fonts for sure.

2. What was the most memorable concert you’ve ever attended, and why did it stand out?

It is so hard to pick a most memorable because there’s been something special about all of them. But one of the most memorable has to be March 2015 – Prince. I was a huge Prince fan for most of my life, and seeing him live was an unexplainable feeling. I didn’t want to blink or I’d miss something. My biggest regret is not getting pit tickets when I was offered them. He invited the whole pit on the stage with him that night!!! I always thought I’d have another opportunity but he passed away the next year.

3. What’s your favorite metal-related memory, whether it’s a concert, meeting a band member, or something else entirely??

The Monsters of Rock cruise for sure! I was able to see so many bands and check a few off my concert bucket list. Between gossiping with Reb Beach in front of the staircase, listening to Jeff Keith sing karaoke, getting setlists from some of my favorite bands, meeting my friend Kat in person and also making new friends in the process…there was never a dull moment. It was truly an amazing experience.

4. Do you have a favorite metal subgenre? If so, what draws you to it?

Glam/Hair metal will always be my favorite sub genre. It has always just been apart of who I am. There’s never been a phase I’ve went through that could eliminate the feral, 80s vixen in me! I have always loved guitar solos, so I think that is a major thing that draws me to it. But I also appreciate the soul and passion I hear in that genre that is absent in most others for me.

5. What’s your go-to metal anthem when you need a boost of energy?

Never Enough – L.A. Guns is one of my go-to songs. It never fails to get me hyped, singing and dancing from the very first word. Last year on Apple Music I was actually made it in the top 1,000 listeners for La Guns. My family says that song is probably how I made it there:

6. If you could attend any metal concert from any era, which one would it be and why?

To attend 80’s hair or glam metal concert would be my dream. Seeing my favorite bands in their prime, just getting started living their own dreams. Everything about that time captivates me. The music, the vibes, lack of technology, the fashion…I can’t imagine anything better than that.

7. How has being a female metal fan shaped your experience within the metal community?

I have been met with nothing but love and acceptance from everyone I’ve met. You can tell when you’re amongst friends, and in this community it always feels that way for me. I am constantly supported and uplifted in ways I had never experienced before. I never leave a metal concert without making a new friend!

8. Have you ever met any of your metal idols? If so, what was that experience like?

I have and it was surreal! I’ve done a few meet and greets with different bands/artists like Winger, Warrant, Faster Pussycat, Jack Russell, and Stephen Pearcy. And on the MORC I ran into several metal legends and had photo ops with them. Meeting Jack Russell is one memory I hold close to my heart. Great White is another band I grew up listening to so meeting him in person just seemed unreal to me. I was so nervous that I walked in and blurted out “I love you!” And he looked at me and said he loved me too. I’ll never forget that. I have met Winger 4 times, and talked with Reb and Paul during the cruise but I am still so starstruck seeing them and meeting them EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. It’s honestly embarrassing! The guys from Winger always make the meet and greets memorable that’s for sure. Whether they’re complimenting my outfit or making fun of my accent – it’s always a lot of fun. And although I love them all, I have so much love and respect for Paul Taylor. Not only is he a kind soul, but he is incredibly talented. I admire him more than anyone.

9. What’s a metal album you think every fan should listen to at least once in their life?

If it’s not too late I’d like to change my answer for #9! The Great Radio Controversy – Tesla (1989) This album delivers one of the strongest tracklists of its era, featuring some of the most memorable ballads of the late ’80s. Every song showcases Tesla’s immense talent—the riffs and solos are both catchy and skillful, the lyrics carry real weight, and the vocals hit with power and emotion. It’s the kind of record that transcends genres, offering something any music fan can appreciate.

10. If you could be on the cover of any bands album which band would it be?

My first choice would obviously be Winger, but right now it seems like another album isn’t in the cards for them. I think being on a Warrant album would be awesome. I love their dirty, rotten, filthy energy and would love to be the “model” to capture and convey that for them. But I’m no Bobbie Brown so I’d have big shoes to fill!

11. Outside of Metal what are some of your other hobbies/interests?

Like most females I know, I love true crime! I also love playing games. Video games, card games, board games – all of it! But currently I just started learning to play electric guitar and I have really been enjoying it. I’ve been practicing hours each day and have a hard time putting it down!
